2014 OTAF Patrons
The Old Town Art Fair, one of the top art fairs in the country, celebrates its 65th year on June 14 and 15, 2014 as the charming, tree-lined streets of the city's historic Old Town Triangle District set the stage for 250 nationally acclaimed artists and an estimated 40,000 art lovers.
The 2014 Old Town Art Fair will be held on June 14th and 15th, 2014. Gates will be open Saturday and Sunday 10am-6pm rain or shine.
We're excited to introduce our first-ever Patrons' Choice award and prizes. Patrons attending and making a donation will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite artist. Both artists and attendees will have a chance to win a trip for two to Barcelona, Spain.
The main gate of the Old Town Art Fair is located at Lincoln Avenue & Wisconsin Street. Other gates: Lincoln Park West & Wisconsin; Sedgwick & Menomonee: Sedgwick & Wisconsin; Menomonee & Wells; and North Park & Willow.
By El: take the Brown Line to Sedgwick and walk north on Sedgwick 4 blocks (across North Ave.) to the gate at Sedgwick & Menomonee.
A donation of $7.00 is requested. There is no donation requested for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit a host of local youth groups, schools, and neighborhood preservation projects.
The 250 artists featured in the 2014 Old Town Art Fair will be selected by an independent jury of professional artists, gallery owners and museum curators. 40% of the artists are new this year. As with every year, the Old Town Art Fair will feature a wide range of art mediums, including 2D- and 3D- mixed media, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, and works in metal, stone, and wood.
Other anticipated highlights of the 2014 Old Town Art Fair will include a Garden Walk through more than 60 urban home gardens, a music stage featuring local talent, a children's corner offering arts and crafts activities, and a food court populated by local eateries. Souvenir stores throughout the fair offer posters, t-shirts and other Old Town Art Fair collectibles.
To all of our exhibitors, patrons, volunteers, vendors and sponsors: THANK YOU!
With your support, we are able to continue in the spirit of the "Old Town Holiday," a popular event started in 1949 by the Old Town Triangle Association that invited artistic residents to display their work and collected 25-cent donations to raise money for improved living, working and recreational conditions in the area. Today's Old Town Art Fair is a great leap from neighbors hanging art on fences, but we're proud that the original intent and commitment are the same: children and community.
Looking forward to seeing you at the fair in 2014 !!!
